As the managing director and registered principal of Aegis Capital Corp., Bill Takos draws on more than 20 years of securities experience. He entered the industry following the receipt of his bachelor of arts from the New York Institute of Technology. Bill Takos accepted his first position in securities shortly thereafter, and less than two months later, he earned his general securities representative credential.
In 1998, after earning a second credential as a general securities principal, Bill Takos joined the firm of Oscar Gruss & Son as a senior account executive. Mr. Takos distinguished himself as one of the firm's top producers before he moved on to the position of vice president of investments at Josephthal & Co. There, he continued his record of achievement as a member of the firm's Chairmans Council and drove production rates that ranked in the firm's top 2 percent.
Mr. Takos left Josephthal & Co. in late 2001 to establish an independent branch of the Concord Equity Group. He went on to do the same with First Montauk Securities Corp. and with the National Securities Corporation. In 2017, Bill Takos embarked upon a similar endeavor with Aegis Capital Corp. and now owns and operates the firm's office in Mineola, New York.
